Fleeing the Nazis at 3, spending 11 years in Turkey, migrating to Canada, then New York City and finally settling in Berkeley, CA, Edith Hillinger has led a fascinating life of migration and endurance that echoes the immigration stories of today. In spite of contracting polio as a toddler which left her lame, Edith Hillinger has made a life of creativity and joy. Nothing stops her! Still making art in her 9th decade she is an inspiration for us all.
